  • Areas of origin: Western Europe as far as Germany.
    Adult dimensions: Height up to 2.5 metres (8,2') , width up to 1.5 metres (4,9').
    Foliage: Evergreen.
    Soil type: Not too wet. Dislikes lime.
    Hardiness: Hardy tolerant to -17°C.
    Exposure: Full sun.


    Properties and uses:
    Abundant fragrant flowers of golden yellow from April to May. This shrub is covered in spines and is therefore good in protective hedging as it is quickly impenetrable. It is also good within a rock garden or on a sunny bank.
