Properties and uses:
The dark green foliage and its ability to be cut into shape precisely, make this an excellent ornamental tree for any park or garden, as a hedge or planted alone. It is a slow growing plant but very effective, even in a container at the house entrance or on a balcony or terrace. It can live for 1500 years. The wood is very tough and is popular for numerous uses such as wood turning, sculpture and veneers as it doesn’t split easily. The seed and the leaves are all toxic.
