Characteristics and uses:
The Heartthrob Violet is a beautiful perennial noted for its showy foliage of heart-shaped leaves adorned with purple centers that contrast with the bright green edges. The simple, slightly fragrant lavender-violet flowers bloom from February to May.
In the Middle-Ages, the fragrant violet was considered an aphrodisiac. A mix of violet and lavender flowers was placed inside pillows.
The Violet will add a romantic touch to a flowerbed, to the front of a border or to a flower pot. They are also excellent ground covering plants as they proliferate without any maintenance. They are not demanding in care. -
