Characteristics and uses:
The Violet 'Parme de Toulouse' blooms from February to May. Its fragrant, double flowers have superb Lavender-blue tones.
In the Middle age, the Sweet Violet was considered as being aphrodisiac. The flowers were placed mixed in with Lavender's flowers, inside pillows.
Violets bring in a touch of romanticism planted at the front of the flowering border, in flowering beds or in containers. They can also be used as ground-covering plants as they do have the advantage of propagating by themselves. They do not require any particular care. - Related Categories
