This unique squash variety produces flattened round fruits which skin is covered with warts as the fruit matures.
Each plant gives 2 to 4 fruits of about 10 kg.
The orange yellow flesh is delicate, tender, sweet and has an excellent flavour.
It is used in delicious soups all winter long, and stores well (about 4 months).
Type of soil: Rich and light. Fertiliser recommended.
Sowing time: From April to June.
Harvest time: From September to October.
Site: Full sun.
Sowing technique:
- Sow 3 to 4 seeds together 2 cm deep and 1.5 m apart, in all directions.
- Keep only the strongest plant of the seed hole, six weeks after growing.
Care:
- Water generously, and let the soil dry up between two watering.
- Spread mulch to encourage a good crop.
- Harvest the mature fruits progressively.
