The Japanese Spindle Tree 'Microphyllus' offers a real alternative to the common Box.
Its look is close, its shape is compact and it has numerous, oval, green leaves.
It is disease-resistant and thrives in all soils, even chalky.
The growth of the Japanese Spindle Tree is rather slow; it is an excellent choice for low hedges, borders and for topiary art.
Water it regularly during the first years after planting.
