Characteristics and uses:
The saffron offers pretty purple corollas flowers with red stamens. These stamens have to be delicately harvested and dried before being kept in a hermetic jar.
After flowering, it is best to wait until the foliage has completely faded before mowing.
You need approximately 150 flowers to obtain 1 gram of saffron.
The saffron is very happy in lawns, rockeries and pots.
