    Description : Rhododendron white, 'Discolor'

  • Geographical origin: China, Szechuan's province
Adult sizes: Height up to 2 m, spread up to 2 m
    Foliage: Evergreen.
Type of soil: Sensitive to chalky soil and excessively wet soils. Bring in some heath peat to avoid a too compacted soil.
    Climate: Hardy to -20°C.
    Site: Partial shade.

    Characteristics and uses:
The Rhododendron 'Discolor' is a superb shrub with a bluish-green foliage and highly fragrant blossom from the end of June to the beginning of July. Its large flowers are white to pinkish-white. The Rhododendron 'Discolor' is shown at its best planted in a flowering bed, with other, earlier flowering Rhododendrons, or grown on its own. It thrives in a lightly shaded site so that its flowers are protected from the scorching sun.
