These fruits are covered with red drupelets and can be eaten fresh, even if they are not very sweet; they can also be used for jam or pastries. In South Asia, these shrubs grow wild in nature and people eat the fruit right off the tree. Very easy to grow, it can be planted among other small fruit trees in the garden but can also be used as groundcover or undergrowth plant, like the wild strawberries.
