Unusual variety with a skin ranging in colours from dark purple to red purple.
The flesh is also purple with an orange core. It is tender and sweet, and very savoury.
Young and old will like it when sliced!
Type of soil: Deep, light, and rich. Preferably sandy.
Sowing time: From April to August.
Harvest time: From August to October.
Site: Full sun.
Sow directly into the ground:
- Sow in rows 1 cm deep and 20 cm apart. Cover with sand or light soil.
- Thin out one month after growth, keeping one seedling every 3 to 5 cm.
- Hoe lightly every time you thin out.
Care:
- Water frequently and generously in dry weather.
- Sow with radishes, this way you will have a double crop, and you will protect the carrots from pests like spider mite.
- Protect the crop with an anti-insect netting. The carrots like garlic, onion, or leek because they protect each other from pests like flies.
