Characteristics and uses:
Gaultheria mucronata or Pernettya mucronata, also known as Prickly Heath, is a compact, bushy shrub. The pink berries that appear in autumn and winter are very decorative. At the end of spring, small, white, bell-shaped flowers bloom.
The dark green foliage turns purple when temperatures get lower.
The Prickly Heath can be planted in a flower bed with other plants that like acidic soil. It is the ideal plant to decorate the most shaded areas of your garden.
