Properties and uses:
Although it is well established in Koekelare, in the Flanders region of Belgium, this pine is a hybrid species obtained with the seeds of the Laricio Pines of Corsica and Calabria. It is more cold resistent, and its wood and branches are stronger than those of the Laricio Pine. It is an interesting variety to plant with, or to replace, the other well-known varieties of Black Pine, such as the Calabria or the Corsican Pine.
