Aromatic perennial, melliferous herb.
The stems are velvety and slightly tinted in red.
The oregano is well appreciated in Italian food, such as pizzas.
Type of soil: Ligh, rich and well-drained.
Sowing time: From April to June.
Harvest time: From April to October.
Site: Full sun.
Sow directly in the ground:
- Use broadcast sowing, cover slightly with soil and tamp down with the back of the rake.
- Thin out keeping one seedling every 50 cm.
- Transplant the thinned-out seedlings 50 cm away in every direction.
Care and pruning:
- Oregano does not need much care; water moderately in dry weather.
- Harvest is done according to the needs. It is also possible to cut the stems before the blossoming to keep them upside down in a ventilated cellar. - Related Categories
