Properties and uses:
Robust and elegant, the Caragana arborescens, nicknamed "Siberian Acacia," is the perfect ally for challenging gardens. This Asian shrub combines light, soft green foliage with exceptional resilience against extreme climates.
/- Luminous Flowering: In spring (May-June), it is covered in a multitude of small, bright yellow flowers, adding a luminous touch to your flowerbeds.
- A Spring Resource: Its generous, melliferous bloom provides bees with an abundant source of nectar. While still little known in some regions, caragana honey is highly prized in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
- Extreme Resistance: It fears neither intense frost (down to -40°C), drought, nor violent winds. It is an ideal choice for mountain or coastal gardens.
- Low Maintenance: It requires very little care and adapts to almost all soil types, even poor or limestone soils.
Usage & Planting Advice:
The Caragana is versatile. Use it as a windbreak hedge, as a standalone specimen for its naturally structured form, or even in containers for an exposed terrace. Its hardiness and root system also make it suitable for slopes or industrial site rehabilitation.
