Area of origin: Horticulture cultivar, sterile hybrid that arises from crossing between Origanum rotundifolium and Origanum scouleri
Adult dimensions: Height up to 0.30m, width up to 0.40m
Foliage: Aromatic evergreen, the fragrance is less intense than the Oregano’s
Soil type: Light and well-drained

Properties and uses:
Oregano 'Kent Beauty' is a small perennial plant with a falling bearing or even creeping. It is an ornamental plant, mainly grown for the beauty of its flowers and foliage.
From summer to autumn, Oregano ‘Kent Beauty’ produces graceful flower spikes adorned with large papery, overlapping bracts in shades of pale pink, dark pink or purple. These bracts look like hanging cones. Inside them, tiny tubular flowers in pink-violet or white appear. These floral structures are highly decorative and remain on the plant for a long time.

- Containers, planters and hanging baskets to showcase its falling bearing.

Culinary: Although it is not considered a culinary herb, its leaves are edible and can be used, but their flavour is sweet and not as intense as that of the Greek or Turkish oregano.

Medicinal Properties: it is not as studied as the Oregano, but it has some similar aromatic qualities.

Comment: its unique floral structure makes it the perfect plant for dry bouquets. The bracts keep their shape and colour once dry.
