Properties and uses:
The Litchee tree is a subtropical fruit tree native to China, where it has been cultivated and eaten for thousands of years. This tree is now popular all over the world thanks to its sweet Litchee fruit, rich in vitamins. The tree thrives in warm temperatures and does not appreciate cold ones.
In regions with mild winters, it may be cultivated in full ground, but the temperatures must seldom drop below 8°C. Therefore, we highly recommend planting it in a pot which can be placed in a conservatory or a greenhouse, or inside as any indoor plant. Place the pot in a lighted room, but without direct contact from sunrays, mainly in summer. Make sure to spray water on the foliage as the Litchee does not like dry atmosphere. It can be placed outside for the summer season, but keep the soil wet between two waterings. The pinkish white flowers that bloom before the summer fruit are highly melliferous.
Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!
