    Description : Lavender, French

  • Geographical origin: Mediterranean area.
    Adult sizes: Height up to 0.70 m, spread up to 0.70m.
    Foliage: Evergreen, highly fragrant.
    Type of soil: Well drained, dry to slightly moist and preferably alkaline.
    Climate: Hardy to -10°C. Tolerate sea spray and drought once fully established.
    Site: Full sun.
    Planting density: 4 to 5 per m².


    Properties and uses:
    The French Lavender has a superb, rounded shape. Its finely dented foliage gives it a particular elegance and you only need to rub it in between your hands to enjoy its wonderful fragrance! Its purple, attractive to bees’ flowers are borne in small spikes. They appear in the spring and last throughout the entire summer and part of the autumn. Used in flowering beds, as a ground-covering plant or even grown in pots, the French Lavender will no doubt find a space in your garden or on your balcony. When you prune it at the beginning of the spring, make sure you keep the wood produced that year as it does not grow or restart on old wood.
