Ice Plant, also called Orange Carpet, is trailing, evergreen succulent appreciated for its mat-forming quality and spectacular blooming.
Blooming continuously from summer to autumn, the Ice Plant produces a large quantity of daisy-like, orange flowers with a yellow heart.
It has a good heat and drought tolerance, so it is perfect for rockeries, stone walls, borders or dry gardens. The leaves of this succulent store water so it can survive in very dry and hot conditions.
Easy to grow, the Ice Plant thrives in a well-drained soil in a sunny location.
It is an excellent ground covering plant which can prevent weeds from growing and protect soil from eroding.
It can also be planted in pots or containers, to bring a Mediterranean touch to a terrace or balcony. -
