The Hosta 'Carnival' is a perennial with large, oval leaves, green with pale yellow edges. It adorns a multitude of lavender, trumpet-shaped flowers in July and August.
Not demanding, and with good longevity, Hostas are perfect used as ground covering plants, as long as they are planted in moist soils and in shady areas.
In the spring, mulch the soil with a mix of vegetal mulch and compost. In summer, cut down the flowering stems which have wilted and remove the leaves that have suffered for the best display.
