Characteristics and uses:
The Cape flats Heath (or Erica Verticillata) is an erect and dense, evergreen shrub. The unusual summer flowering starts in June and lasts about one month. The flowers are highly melliferous; this heath thrives in mild climate and along the coast as it is less hardy than the genus.
In the regions with a cold climate and periods of frost, it is recommended to grow it in pots so it can be wintered inside. In the regions with a milder climate, it can be planted in flowerbeds or borders, as it doesn’t need any care.
