Area of origin: South-western Europe, Asia Minor. Introduced into Europe in 1582.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 25 m (82'), width up to 15m (49.2').
Foliage: Deciduous
Soil Type: Fertile.
Hardiness: Hardy to -20°C.
Exposure: Full sun.

Properties and uses:
This beautiful tree of conical form with grooved trunk and rough grey bark like cork. Used in planted in rows it can also be planted alone in parks and gardens. The fruits are very strong and of average quality.
