Area of origin: Japan.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 40 cm, spread up to 50 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil Type: Moist.
Hardiness: hardy to -20°C.
Exposure: Mid-shade to full sun.
Planting density: 6 / m².

Properties and uses:
The Japanese forest grass ‘Aureola’ develops into a dense mound. Its long arching leaves are variegated, yellow and green and take on red tints in the autumn. This nearly all-year round, highly decorative grass can be grown as a ground-covering plant or with other ornamental grasses with their varied, coloured foliage.
Place it in a sunny spot under cooler climates; otherwise it prefers partially shaded sites.
