The Cherry Silverberry is a small, hardy shrub easy to look after which has numerous qualities. It tolerates any type of soil as long as well drained. It is hardy and disease-resistant.
This Eleagnus participates to the upkeep of biodiversity in covering itself with a multitude of small, fragrant, attractive to bees, white flowers in April/May. Bright red fruits looking like cherries and appreciated by birds follow during the entire summer. The Cherry Silverberry is self-fertile and its fruits can be eaten by humans in jellies or overripe.
The Cherry Silverberry has rapid growth and is mostly grown in hedges.
