Characteristics and uses:
The Giant Reed charms thanks to its graphical, aery shape which evokes the wilderness of the Mediterranean area. Easy to grow, this perennial only requires a well-drained, moist soil. It is also recommended to cut its foliage right back at the end of autumn. The Giant Reed can be planted as a privacy hedge or on its own. It will be equally sensational in a flowering bed, surrounded by other Mediterranean plants. It is also an ideal plant by a swimming pool.
The Giant Reed has got a tendency to be invasive, especially in hot areas. The variegated varieties, less vigorous, are therefore to be favoured in these areas. -
