Geographical origin: Eastern America.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 10m Spread up to 15m in its native habitat, Height up to 3m Spread up to 4m under our latitudes.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Preferably moist and not calcareous.
Climate: Hardy up to -15°C.
Site: Full sun.
Characteristics and uses:
The Fringe tree is a superb ornamental shrub which bears abundant, unusual blooms at the end of spring. Its white, fringed and highly scented flowers cover up the tree entirely which gives the impression that the tree is entirely covered with snow! Finally, its brown bark with hints of red is highly decorative in winter.
