Description : Fern, Common Polypody

Geographical origins: Present on all continents.
Adult dimensions: Height up to 30 cm, width up to 40 cm.
Foliage: Evergreen.
Type of soil: Rich, humid and well drained, non-calcareous.
Climate: Extremely hardy, up to -40°C.
Site: Mid-shade to full sun, in a rather humid environment.
Planting density: 6/m².

Properties and uses:
The Common Polypody Fern is an extremely resistant fern which has shiny, dark green foliage. It spreads thanks to its rootstocks which makes it an ideal ground-covering plant for shady spots. It also grows well in rocky sites, in low walls or in a vegetal wall for example.
Easy to look after, it simply needs its foliage cleaned at the end of winter.
