Description : Escallonia 'Iveyi'

Hybrid: Escallonia x exoniensis X Escallonia montevidensis.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 2m, width up to 2m.
Foliage: Evergreen
Soil Type: Avoid soil with too much lime, mix in compost too avoid soil being too compact.
Hardiness: Tolerant to -10°C.
Exposure: Full sun.

Properties and uses:

- Luminous and Melliferous Flowering: From the beginning of summer, it is covered in a multitude of small, pure white bell-shaped flowers highly favored by bees.
- Evergreen and Glossy: Its leaves are larger, darker, and more glossed than other varieties. They remain dense and evergreen throughout the year.
- Subtle Fragrance: Its flowers exhale a sweet, woody scent that irresistibly attracts butterflies.
- Highly Resistant: Particularly suited for coastal gardens, it fears neither sea spray, wind, nor urban pollution.
The Escallonia iveyi appreciates a situation slightly sheltered from cold winds, ideally against a wall or within a protective shrubbery.
