Description : Curry plant

Area of origin: Mediterranean basin
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 60 cm, width up to 50 cm
Foliage: Evergreen
Soil Type: dry and well-drained, limey
Hardiness: Hardy to -10°C.
Exposure: Full sun.
Density of plantation: 6 per m²

Properties and uses:
This Curry plant is a sub-shrub with an upright growth. It has a silvery grey, hairy foliage which smells like curry. The leaves can be infused but remain indigestible.
The small yellow flowerheads in domed clusters appear in late spring and last until early frost. Once cut and arranged in bouquets, they dry and last a long time. The Curry plant needs to be pruned at the end of winter to keep its bushy aspect.
The Curry plant is one of the varieties used by the Blue Tit to clean its nest from parasites.
