Properties and uses:
The Columbine 'Nora Barlow' (Aquilegia) is a must-have heirloom variety, ideal for enhancing natural and romantic style gardens. Unlike classic bell-shaped columbines, 'Nora Barlow' stands out for its double flowers that resemble small, miniature dahlias.- Unique blooming: From May to July, the green buds on the upper part of the stems open to reveal double, pompon-like flowers that immediately catch the eye. They offer a unique gradient ranging from deep pink to pale pink, finishing with creamy-white tips subtly tinged with soft green.
- Excellent cut flower: Its good vase life allows for the creation of lovely spring bouquets.
- Ideal partial-shade perennial: It will easily find its place along woodland edges, bordering shaded pathways, or in a cottage garden bed.
- Easy and hardy: Highly cold-resistant, it is easy to grow and self-seeds spontaneously from year to year.
It pairs perfectly with perennial geraniums, phlox, or bleeding hearts, for example.
