Properties and uses:
The Columbine 'Crimson Star' (Aquilegia) brings a unique energy to the garden as soon as spring arrives. Far from the soft hues of certain varieties, it embraces modernity with its striking and impactful bicolor blooms. Its large flowers feature long carmine-red spurs, which contrast beautifully with a core of pure white petals surrounding a cluster of yellow stamens.- Striking contrast: The unique pairing of bright red and pure white offers one of the most eye-catching visual displays in the columbine family.
- Generous and airy blooming: From May to July, it produces a profusion of light flowers, carried by well-upright stems above a finely cut bluish-green foliage. They will dance at the slightest gust of wind.
- Ideal for beds and borders: Its slender silhouette is perfect for adding rhythm to cottage garden beds or bordering partially shaded pathways.
- Excellent vase life: Pick its flowering stems to compose original and graphic bouquets at home.
Highly versatile, they are easily integrated anywhere in the garden: in the middle of a flower bed, as a border, at the base of shrubs, along woodland edges, or on a slope. You can also group several plants together to create a beautiful, dense, and colorful clump. Columbine 'Crimson Star' will pair beautifully with perennial geraniums, heucheras, or ferns.
