The Arecastrum romanzoffianum is also known as Cocos Palm or Queen Palm. Indeed, this ornamental tropical tree has large, ‘feathery’ palms; it is quite popular and widely cultivated in Brazil and Argentina where it is used to border avenues or streets. Fast-growing, tall, and hardy, this Palm tree is one of the most widely used urban palm in the world.
Very decorative, the young palm can be grown in pots and used as a houseplant. However, this will limit its growth.
If you wish to place it in your garden, in a pot (for wintering) or in full ground, it needs to be protected against cold weather.
