Description : Cloud Pruned Box-leaved

Area of origin: Far East, in particular Japan.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 3 m.
Foliage: Evergreen.
Soil Type: Acid to neutral, rich rather moist. It does not thrive in chalky soils.
Hardiness: Hardy to -20°C.
Exposure: Semi-shade to full sun.

Properties and uses:
With the Common Box, the Box-leaved Japanese Holly is the ultimate shrub to use for topiary. This hardy, disease-resistant plant will particularly suit gardens in northern France and Europe. With its dense, glossy foliage it can be pruned to any shape and sizes, even the most fanciful: do not hesitate to take a look at our guide on topiary art.

This green sculpture could decorate a balcony or an entrance, brighten up a French-style garden or inject a Zen, Japanese- inspired atmosphere to your outdoor spaces.

Easy to grow, it is best not to plant it in full sun in the hottest areas. It thrives in a moist, well-drained soil and tolerates shady sites. Its pruning is done at the beginning of summer, and again in September-October.
