Properties and uses:
The crimson clematis is a non-climbing clematis: it has a bushy tuft shape with magnificent crimson foliage. It flowers from July through to September. During this period, it is covered with small star shaped white flowers that have a cream centre and give off a delicious perfume. Very decorative feathery fruits follow this.
Although this clematis does not climb, it still conforms to the general rules. It appreciates a moist but not wet soil and likes to have its feet in the shade and its head in the sun.
At the end of winter cut off the driest parts so that the plant will be at its best for the following spring. - Related Categories
