Also known as Boston Cabbage, this variety is vigorous and productive.
This is an ancient late variety, with a round flattened compact head, which can weight up to 10 kg!
The leaves are crunchy and a big favourite for making sauerkraut.
Type of soil: Rich, moist and well-drained.
Sowing time: From March to July.
Harvest time: From October to March.
Site: Full sun.
Sowing technique:
- Sow in rows ½ cm deep and 20 cm apart.
- Transplant 6 to 8 weeks after sowing, keeping seedlings 50 cm apart.
- Protect from flea beetle when growing.
Care:
- Water generously during summer.
- Hoe frequently.
- Protect from caterpillars.
