The Blackberry 'Dirksen' is an improved horticultural, thornfree variety of the wild Blackberry. End of July and right until September, it produces an abundance of big, red fruits which becomes black when fully ripe. Their juicy flesh is sweet and sour. This variety is easy to grow, highly vigorous and can be grown trained. The year following planting, prune it so as to only keep the most vigorous branches.
Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!
