This is a cordon, outdoor variety with no 'set' growing capacities. It produces large, chocolate coloured fruits, which can reach approximately 250g at maturity. It has good productivity and withstands drought. Furthermore, it is appreciated for its excellent taste and its absence of acidity.
Type of soil: Rich and well drained. Deeply dug.
Sowing time: From the end of January to April.
Harvest time: From July onwards.
Minimum temperature: The soil temperature must be above 20°C for germination to occur.
Site: Full sun.
Sow inside:
- Sow three to four seeds in a pot. Cover lightly and water well.
- Choose the strongest plant from each pot once they have come through. Check the pots every day to ensure they are moist to avoid the plants dehydrating.
- Around March time, you can take the plants out from under cover.
- At the end of May the young plants can be planted out in the vegetable plot, make sure there is 50cm between each plant.
Care:
- Remove the side shoots and stake the plants as they grow.
- Water each plant regularly.
