Area of origin: Whenchuan in the Sichuan province, China.
Adult Dimensions: 3 to 4 metres high.
Foliage: Evergreen.
Soil Type: Moist, rich and deep. Avoid excess of lime.
Hardiness: Hardy to -20°C.
Exposure: Semi-shade to full sun.
Roots development: clump roots.
Properties and uses:
This bamboo is a new species, non-running, dense with a copious foliage which makes the culm bend outwards. The culms are brown and the foliage is dark green, giving it quite an exotic style.
This beautiful variety is mainly used in screening hedges, but it also adapts to being planted alone, in beds or in containers on a terrace. -
