  • Area of origin: Japan.
    Adult Dimensions: Height up to 40 cm, spread up to 40 cm.
    Foliage: Evergreen.
    Soil Type: Cool and moist, although withstands dry soils.
    Hardiness: hardy to -20°C.
    Exposure: Shade, Mid-shade, Full sun.
    Planting density: 6 / m².


    Properties and uses:
    The Heuchera 'Obsidian has superb purplish-grey- foliage which enhances its violet veins. It forms a thick, ground- covering cushion and it is enhanced by a cloud of small flowers in June-July. Grow it in flowering beds with other Heucheras or again with ornamental grasses for a more graphic effect.
    As a rule we require 6 Heucheras per m². At the end of winter, it is necessary to cut back its foliage so as to encourage the appearance of numerous new leaves.
