Also known as Blue Garlic or Allium azureum, because of its magnificent blue shade, it can be combined with other perennials in your borders and flowering beds. Think of it to create original cut flowers bouquets!
Plant the Allium bulbs between September and October in well-prepared soil; they should be planted at a depth of three times the size of the bulb. For the best effect, plant between 10 and 20 bulbs spaced 20cm apart.
Flowering takes place between May and July, it is a good idea to stake the tallest stems to stop them breaking in the wind. Remove the flowers as soon as they wither.
Alliums are ideal in borders, along a wall or in pots; they have many uses and produce a beautiful effect! - Related Categories
