Characteristics and uses:
The Allium Amplectens is a small decorative garlic plant perfect in pots or borders with small globes of sparkling white umbels.
Plant the Allium bulbs between September and October in well-prepared soil; they should be planted at a depth of three times the size of the bulb. For the best effect, plant between 10 and 20 bulbs spaced 20cm apart.
Flowering takes place between May and July, it is a good idea to stake the tallest stems to stop them breaking in the wind. Remove the flowers as soon as they wither.
Alliums are ideal in borders, along a wall or in pots; they have many uses and produce a beautiful effect! - Related Categories
