An early variety for early or mid-season sowings. VELOX has semi long cylindrical roots that are bright red with a small white tip. A variety that is not prone to hollowness and has uniform growth.
Type of soil: Moist, deep and sandy.
Sowing time: From February to September.
Harvest time: From March to October.
Site: Partial shade to full sun.
Sow directly in the ground:
- Sow a seed every 2 to 3cm in a 1.5cm deep furrow, cover with fine compost and water.
- Thin out if necessary to leave a plant every 3cm.
- A cloche can be used to warm early sowings.
Care and pruning:
- Keep the soil moist and sow regularly to have a continual supply.
