Description : Cotoneaster dammeri

Geographical origin: Western China.
Adult dimensions: Height between 20 to 30 cm, width up to several metres.
Foliage: Evergreen.
Type of soil: Any, well drained.
Hardiness: Hardy to -30°C.
Exposure: Partial shade to full sun.
Plantation density: 4 / m².

Properties and uses:
The cotoneaster dammeri is an excellent plant for ground cover. Its ability to spread out and put down roots make it an ideal plant for stabilizing soil banks. If grown in a pot it will provide a cascade of greenery. Its white flowers appear around the month of May. These are followed by masses of small red berries, which are a favourite with birds.

Cotoneaster dammeri 'Eicholz': Height up to 30 cm, width up to 2 m, dense, vigorous and creeping foliage. The port is more upright than the type species.
