Areas of origin: Atlas mountains in Morocco and Algeria at 1400 to 2200 m (1531 to 2435yds). Introduced in 1842.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 40 m (131'), width up to 20 m (65.6').
Foliage: Evergreen.

The areas of origins of the Atlas Cedar have annual average temperatures between 7,5 and 15°C, with cold winters (the average for January’s minimum temperatures is between -8° to -1°C), and with average maximum temperature for July higher than 30°C.
The Atlas Cedar has a powerful and deep root system, and thick soils with good water retention can compensate low rainfalls. This characteristic makes it quite resistant to drought.
The Atlas Cedar grows in a wide range of bedrocks and thrives in silica rock and soft grounds.
2) Which planting density for my Atlas Cedar plot? (Cedrus atlantica)

- Plan for the possibility of watering if planting is delayed or if the plants require water,

5) How to limit weeds on my Atlas Cedar plot (Cedrus atlantica) ?
During the first years, it is essential to eliminate all self-propagating plants.
